Do you want to help the Gathering Ireland attract visitors to Ireland in 2013? If you feel you live in the best town or city in Ireland then here’s your chance to show us why and be in with a chance to win €1,000 for you and/or your team and a prize of €400 for your school.
In collaboration with the Gathering Ireland, Bank of Ireland and the Department of Education and Skills, are giving 2nd Level Transition year students an opportunity to ‘put your town on the map’.
This film-making initiative not only encourages creativity and the use of digital media but also encourages engagement with the local community and researching of areas/residents of local interest. It will enhance and support the delivery of the Transition Year Curriculum by providing students with an opportunity to understand the potential of digital media and enabling them to practice and refine their presentation and communication skills.
It’s really easy to take part (competition rules apply):
Step 1: Make a three minute short film on your own or with three classmates, that showcases all that is great about the town or city where you live.
Step 2: Obtain your parental consent and link in with your Transition Year Coordinator/nominated school representative and have your short film clip reviewed and your competition entry validated*.
Step 3: Together with your Transition Year Co-ordinator/nominated school representative:
Upload your film clip to www.vimeo.com (marking it as private) and log on to www.bankofireland.com/thegathering and complete the Short Film Competition Registration Form. The Competition closing date is 22 February 2013.
