A cultural and traditional weekend commencing the 12th to 15th April to keep the Titanic momentum alive following on from the society's successful weekend which commemorated (April 2012) the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.
Keeping Lahardane on the international map, promote tourism in North Mayo and provide an opportunity to overseas visitors to visit the Addergoole Titanic Memorial Park in Lahardane village. Promising a weekend of tradiitonal music, song, dance and poetry to be enjoyed by all, climaxing with the Annual Bell Ringing Ceremony on the night of the 14th/morning of the 15th when the Bell il St. Patrick's Church, Lahardane will be tolled at 2.20am to commemorate the 14 parishioners who were on board RMS Titanic.
Welcoming visitors from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Titanic Societies from Ireland and the UK, and those with a keen interest in history, the Addergoole Titanic Society, Lahardane will celebrate the lives and legacy of the decendants of the Ttanic combined with music, traditions and old fashioned entertainment of 100 years.
Date for Your Diary & in conjunction with the North Mayo Welcome Home Gathering (1st-9th Aug), the Addergoole Titanic Society welcomes visitors attending the Gathering Festival with a specially created Titanic Heritage Walk, on Saturday 3rd August.
