Thanks to Riverdance – The Gathering, getting your name into the Guinness World Record book is as easy as 1, 2, 3… or we should say 5, 6, 7, 8.
In the video above, the original star of Riverdance Jean Butler explains that everyone is invited to put on their jig shoes and line up along the banks of the River Liffey in Dublin for an exciting attempt to break the current record for the longest line of Riverdance. You can register here now.
At noon on 21 July, you can join Riverdance stars like Butler and Niamh O’Connor in the capital city as they try to smash the record held by Nashville, USA, of 652 participants. The goal is to have at least 1,000 people lining up in a continuous, 1km long line along the Liffey for this very special gathering event.
To participate, you need to know basic Irish dancing, learn some of the core Riverdance steps and be fit enough to dance for five minutes. And if you’re not quite up for the dancing, don’t worry; everyone is invited to come down and watch this fun and historic moment, which is sure to be a spectacular sight.
As a special thank you for the efforts of our Riverdance Record Breakers from overseas, we have a 3-Day Dublin Pass worth €65 to give away to every 20th overseas participant who registers. With your Dublin Pass you’ll be able to make the most of your visit in July with free entrance to over 30 top visitor attractions, transport from the airport to the city and 24 exclusive special offers in entertainment, dining and tour venues.
