Ennis Roots Weekend is a new Gathering inspired event for Co Clare, the home of traditional music. Following on from the success of Love:live music - Ennis in 2012, Clare's county town will again host a FREE concert on June 21st to connect with music day around the globe. Developing to a full weekend of music for 2013, the festival will be filled with events for visitors and locals alike to take part in and come together to enjoy some of Ireland's best known musicians and groups and even have the opportunity to join them on stage! You can take a tour of our boutique town and meet shop owners who will be offering a great Ennis welcome.
we will be reaching out to lovers of traditional music around the world through some great bands with 'Clare Connections', to experience the groups at home and have the opportunity to join them in music both on stage and at sessions.
Be a part of the Guinness World recort attempt for the largest tin whistle ensemble along with Lúnasa and special guests. (learn the tune in advance - tutorial of the tune will be uploaded to You Tube in December)
Perform with the worlds best known céilí band on stage. The Kilfenora Céilí band will invite an international audience member up to join them on stage - musicians and dancers get practicing - it could be you!
International street band competition over the weekend - emerging trad groups from around the world are invited to take part. Judged by world renouned traditional musicians and industry specialists with prizes including an opportunity to perform with a top traditional group when they visit your town or city during a tour.
Bring your passport for the meet the town tour and get a special welcome in the shops.
