It is proposed to invite and welcome home in June 2013 all those players who now reside abroad who played for Tipperary in either in hurling or football from minor level upwards at championship level. It is envisaged that there are a number in excess of two hundred scattered around the globe that would fall into this category.
It is the plan to invite them home for the weekend of the 9th of June for the Tipperary versus Limerick Munster hurling championship semi final which will be played in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick. The former players will be brought on the Saturday night 8th June to Bru Boru in Cashel for a night of Irish cultural entertainment followed by refreshments followed by songs and stories in a rambling house style format in which the guests would participate.
On Sunday the guests will be brought by bus to Limerick provided with match tickets for the Munster hurling championship semi final and treated to a meal afterwards. The guests will be located in Tipperary for the duration of their stay.
