The Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival is one of the most unique annual Music Festivals in Ireland, celebrating Ireland's best loved Rock 'n Blues Guitarist, the Late Rory Gallagher who was born in Ballyshannon. Over 12,000 Rory, Rock 'n Blues fans from all over the world attend this 4-day event annually. It takes place in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal between Thursday 30th May and Sunday 2nd June 2013. The majority of the Concerts are Free to View on the streets of Ballyshannon, with Nightly Festival Concerts in the Festival Big Top and this year will feature THE BAND OF FRIENDS with Gerry McAvoy & Ted McKenna (Rory Gallagher Band Members) also NINE BELOW ZERO with Mark Feltham & Brendan O'Neill (also Rory Gallagher Band Members). Among the leading acts also performing are PAT McMANUS BAND with ANDY POWELL (Wishbone Ash), Johnny Gallagher & Boxtie, Sinnerboy (UK), The Loop (Germany), Mick Pyro Blues Band (from Republicv of Loose), Moonchild, Laundromat (Holland) and many more - in all there will be 25 acts on 15 stages over the 4 days !!! The Festival is based primarily on Rock 'n Blues Music with Open Air Street Gigs, Nightly Big Top Concerts, Workshops, Exhibitions, Theatre Concerts and Pub sessions. Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival won the Best Festival for visitor numbers between 10,000 and 30,000 at the 2010 & 2011 Irish Festival Awards. While at the Festival and in Ballyshannon visit the Rory Gallagher Bronze life-size Statue and the Hospital where Rory was born appropriately named the Rock Hospital.
