Your Local Gathering Team

Every county in Ireland has a Gathering Coordinator and Local Engagement Manager. These people are the main contacts for all things related to The Gathering Ireland in your county. 

The Coordinator and Local Engagement Manager will work together to lead, plan, coordinate and deliver the county’s overarching Gathering Action Plan. In this vital role, they will ensure that the initial excitement surrounding The Gathering Ireland is kept alive and results in many successful Gatherings for the county.

Each county will also have a Gathering Steering Group, which is responsible for appointing the Coordinator. In turn, the Coordinator acts as a project manager at county-level and collaborates with the Local Engagement Manager, who is employed by Fáilte Ireland to work on the ground in the county.

In essence, your local Gathering team is responsible for:

• Initiating Gathering-related activities within the county
• Developing networks of Gathering Organisers and key stakeholders who will provide a high level of support for people on the ground
• Organising, promoting and running community meetings
• Establishing effective frameworks, supports and working relationships
• Setting up and managing The Gathering Ireland calendar of events and a local county-wide communications plan
• Ensuring information on events is up-to-date on The Gathering Ireland website as well as any other local/county websites
• Assisting with local and regional PR
• Developing ways to measure progress and promote learning
